every few times i create a new vtad it freezes and all of sfp is frozen, just wondering why vdat does this, nothing else does. ...usually you press create and it goes to your windows directory to name it, when it freezes, it doesn't open the windows directory, it just freezes, anyone else have this problem?, ...just in case its the drive, i defrag and cleanup the drive which is "E drive", but i wonder if it would have anything to do with my C drive virtual memory as i only have about 2gigs of freespace left on it?

is it the windows dir that hides or the vdat, cause the vdat is frozen, i have to restart sfp, and the windows dir collapses and is gone and nothing can unfreeze sfp

it takes a while to prepare the chosen hard drive as a virtual tape, especially if there are a number of tracks. maybe you aren't patient enough....
