Cubase 4

Anyone using Cubase 4 yet? I will be purchasing it and wish to hear of it's strength's , and weaknesses. Sounds like an all in one DAW solution for recording audio / MIDI. 
Secondly, I will be automating the hussies so I don't have to be there, as it is such a bopper gig. So I am hoping to train a trustworthy friend to do the shows. He will need to learn the SFP DAW a little, and run a VST host player only. Does such an application exist? Something that will play what I sequence in Cubase 4, and simply transfer it? This would be great, and I could finally relax this spring.
