Hi!
As you might have allready seen, there will come a new mighty dynamic EQ which I and Pixelbites (known as Shroomz & Sharc) work on.
So far the circuit is nearly 100% ready & now the most insensive work goes into layout & design which Pixelbites will work out.

We need to know if you'd like to have:
- 4 or 8 Envelope Followers
- one or two pre-inserts before Envelope Followers...
- (2) Pre & Post Inserts for the device
- any other things realized

Here's my humble opinion on these points Martin (since nobody else replied yet)

1. I'd like 8 envelope followers, 1 per band, because I'd find the extra EFs very powerfull for dynamic EQing of (for example) an 8-16 part drum groove. I've already had stunning sounding results with just the 4 EFs, but 8 would be KILLER!!

2. 1 pre follower insert should be enough. (sorry, I know it was me who suggested having
2) A post insert on each EQ stage could be an interesting addition though!

3. Again, in retrospect one Pre & Post insert should be enough (now that I've thought more about this)

4. I think a short manual that at least outlines the concept & controls of such a powerfull dynamic EQ would be welcomed by anyone looking at it & thinking 'what on earth is this' or 'where do I start'. When it's finished I can help you out with some diagrams etc for a PDF if you'd like.

People need to try the demo for this if they haven't already. It's not a device you can demo in 30 mins (unless you already fully grasp what's going on) so I'd recommend a good 1-2 hour session for anyone not sure, but interested in an extremely powerfull dynamic EQ. My hat goes off to Martin because this simply MUST be the most powerfull device in it's catagory for Scope.. period.

I for one am totally clueless on how to/what to use such a device for. I feel like a newb

For those who don't know, a dynamic equaliser is a very versatile processing tool that can be used for creative & or precision sculpting, moulding, restoration or ambient enhancement. (For the weirdos like myself, just sculpting some drum tracks with such an EQ is real fun and can yeild some very unusual & surprising results)

Basically dynamic equalisation allows frequency sculpting far beyond the capabilities of standard eqs.

Maybe Martin can quickly explain the principles in more detail (I'm sure he'll make a better job of that than I would)

Its good to hear Shrooms and sharc is working out the designs and layout, then I`m sure it will loook good.

I vote for a 4 PAraEQ and 4 Env Followers

And an 8 EQ and 8 EF_version

Or 8 version with possibility of switching off every single band.
If the design is well done, maybe one version is enough....

By the way I have got another question: If we have a realy nice modular synth layout, would it be much work to make a real device synth from it with SDK?
So we could build up some cool synths with nice GUIs and easy user interface....

I`m sure the synths modules are also available on SDK, right?

On Martin's demo version this is already implemented. Each of the 8 bands can be switched off & also unloaded from dsp in pairs. The EFs can also be switched off individually.
