Hello All,
I bought a Pulsar XTC off ebay a few weeks ago. Since then I've read the PDF's, Installed SCOPE 4.0, thrown the machine out of the window and back... you know... the usual stuff.
Anyway... I'm getting to grips with the whole thing. I first bought it thinking I was just buying a few high powered VST's. (ha...as if!)
SO... now knowing what I know after many hours of reading PDF's, the creamware website(s) and studying Planetz...
Could someone please let me know if I am able to bolt on a classic 20 I/O onto my Pulsar XTC, making a fully fledged ASIO Soundcard?
Or if not... what other choices do I have?
Currently I just have an Audiophile which, although it has served me well as a young boy, I want to join the grown up world of Creamware!
I'd be grateful of any comments and suggestions.

Also - don't give up on the XTC-mode. I had trouble myself when I initially wanted to install the XTC-option, I couldn't quite firgure out what I was doing wrong, and then suddenly it worked. Don't now exactly why, but it worked. The point of the storry is, that XTC-mode is not just a fairytale.

I hardly use it though, since the SFP-environment is truely powerful, when you first get your head around it and figure out how to integrate it in your workflow.

But yes, you can upgrade your XTC-card - or you could buy a second-hand pulsar 2, you are gonna want the extra DSP's anyway
I started out like you with a just needing a bit more power, bought a Elektra/Luna2-card, now I have 39 DSP's

yes, you can cascade the XTC to other models, the XTC model is 'just' a Pulsar(2) without In/Outs (and its software representations)

Thanks alot for the replies. I'll try and hunt down an I/O plate then or another card. I could email canadapromedia to see if they will sell me a classic I/O plate to get me started. Sadly I'm not rockafella but who know's, they might have one gathering dust somewhere.
I think the sooner I get the 'other soundcard' out of my circuit the better. I reckon the routing will be loads more straight forward once it's gone as well.
The rest of the system seems all ship shape and ready to go. The XTC mode + VST plugin route just seemed to be a problem (the midi sync of the VST's wouldn't modify - just went 140/30 etc)
I'm looking forward to full SFP integration.
