Somebody knows if it's possible (switchin with the various modes of sl9000) using it as a de-esser?
I don't have understand something of the various "operative" modes tha u can change switching with the buttons Dyn+Eq,Dyn+SC etc.
Also for sidechaining...i don't see SC input on the SL!!!!!
What im missing?????

Yes it could be used as a de-esser. The side chain is built in. DYN SC & SPLIT + SC are the algos with side chain.

use an eq in the sidechain. split the signal you wish to de-ess, send the split to the sidechain but send it through a bandpass eq that passes the spectrum that is too hot in places(highs). by fooling with the threshold and the bands selected, you can make a very effective de-esser.

Thank u Garyb but i know that.
My question was how to use the SC in the SL9000 coz it's a little bit confused.
Somebody with some more clues?

hi,

Image

you can use sl9000 as a deesser on a voice but it's not so good as our dynpara or m/seq.
(sl9000 is better to clean a snare drum like for cs.)
shroomz is right, when you choose an algo like dyn sc or split sc by clicking on evdesign logo, the routing change and side-chain (sc) is selected.
so ,those 2 algo can be used as deesser or "anti-pop"
after that selection , garyb is right, the eq and filters are here to choose the right frequency.cut all the low-freq and low-mid,after choose hi-freq (about 6 to 10khz or higher ) and when you increase gain freq, the compress do its job
