Paypal (or via paypal) as hacked my bank card (-2000€/2000dl), after purchase a synth.
There are similar hackings in friends and always at paypal.

If you want to change account it is the moment, paypal is a big sh*t.

The problem on paypal is recent,
my friends had the problem this month.
Paypal has a problem of safety.
Server hacked or tunneling ?

it's very good that you point to recent attacks - yet I disagree on the conclusion.
It doesn't have to be related to the (active) paypal connection at all.

There is effectively no protection against spyware because it first has to be noticed to make it into the updates of respective anti-software.
Until that happens your system is more or less unprotected.

sorry for your trouble, Tom

well thank you for these informations. I am fed up with all these companies because it is hard to know what is right or wrong (look at the website given above and you will find that the aim is to propose an ALTERNATIVE to paypal (humm... i would say it is a matter of business again...). We are just consumers and that's all...

oops, not a good joke/irony by me - I completely forgot about the link between eBay and PayPal...

I had in mind someone (anonymously) payed the tickets by fraud of your acccount and then sold them on eBay.
This looks incredibly stupid, so I hope with you they get what they deserve on return (I assume your balance has been corrected in the meantime).

allez les bleues, Tom

your money should be easy to recover. put claims in to both your bank and paypal.

this is how it is in the cashless economy. when cash is gone completely and all transactions are paperless, this will get much worse. having all info available from a central database(a must for fluidity's sake) and the need to conduct transactions easily makes for a system that is insecure by default. we should refuse to go this way(of the system called "the beast" in the hague), but we're too worried about soccer scores and bennifer(me too)...

I've never had problems with paypal till jet, touch wood. but the fee when receiving money is a barefacedness (nice word btw, thanx to babylon  the fee is about 4%...

i recently got a mail from a paypal address (but wasnt from paypal), in there a request to update the personal profile. the link went to a imitated paypal site, which looked like the real one. all the ad's and images even where from the paypal site (looked in the html source), except the login dialog obviously. I wonder how many people walked in this trap...

cheers
