I can use gigastudio in certain ways but when I use it realtime I feel there is a latency problem.
Is this due to Gsif?
I recently read that Gsif 2 drivers alleviate that problem.
Is that true?
Thanks

giga in realtime should work fine, ask scope4live..
afaik, giga latency follows the ulli setting.

GSIF2 merely allows you to taint your audio through Gigastudio's shite effects.

I worried about not having GSIF2 when I build my Scope system, but quickly found that it really doesn't matter as noted above. I wouldn't use Giga effects anyway. (Gigapulse takes a whole lot of CPU and it really isn't worth fussing that you don't have the GSIF2 drivers). Just set up a decent ULLI setting and you're all set. I run Giga on a separte Scope machine as well as on my main DAW for light work. ALL works really well. Talk to Scope4live, he's the real expert.

I'm waiting 4 Gigastudio 3 to get out the infestation of bugs it has. Great sample player for huge amount of samples and routings live though. taSCAM should have it fixed by the Gigastudio XII relaease in 2015. They fucked themselves by letting VST bypass them in several areas of sampling, and not getting GSIF 2.0 drivers out 4 giga 2.54. But GS3 Orchestra allows me to play my clavs, rhodes, wurly, melotron,ARP string, symphonic string, upright pianos, and all my ethnic wind, reed string, and percussion w/o reloading, so that is the only reason I keep this app going. Gigapulse convoluted reverb sounds really good 4 the resonant body impulses like acoustic pedal down pianos, and hollow body resonances of acoustic instruments very well, but if your'e playing live, don't toss away your hardware verb, use it 4 the room ambience in conjunction with Gigapulse, as it makes for very realistic performance of a mic'd soloist doing acoustic stuff.
Fuck Tascam,
