Hi,
I just did some overclocking-tests with my asus p5 wd2 E premium and Intel D930 (3.0 GHz)
It seems like a CPU frequency at 266 MHz woks stable with nuendo / scope.
That means 4.0 GHz CPU and 707 MHz DDR2 speed

On open air events in northern grönland it should work fine.

Overclocking and stability,Mmmm....,Do you paint flames on them as well.

I've just fitted a warp drive on mine,It proves a bit difficult when I'm trying to travel between dimensions at Warp 9.

no, I´m just using a few more native highend plugins in realtime
no crash since 48h, by the way

just try ripping a dvd and only then say that overclocking works fine and system is stable
btw, which CPU are you using?
my P4 Dualcore 3.2 starts up on 4 GHz, but overheats very quickly (cooled by Zalman 7700Cu), when set to 3.7 Ghz it works fine with nuendo etc, but overheats when under load (final mixdown etc.)
so currently i set it to nominal freq. and looking for a good liquid-cooling system...

Strange,
I did a maxwell-render overnight, 99% systemload, no promlems with overheating even with "out of the box cooling"...
Sorry, I never ripped any dvd

Sorry, I never ripped any dvd
i rip dvd very often 'cause my customers bring me video for work on DVDRs
with such results with out-of-the-box cooling you must be having a singlecore cpu, which is almost two times cooler

you need another box for that job....

imho that will be a waste of money, because both tasks require much power and are nerer done at the same time...
also overclocking assumes presence of stability tests, one of them is that dvd ripping, if mobo starts and even works with overclocking, but does not pass stability tests then overclocking is not successfull

o.k. whatever. iMYho, it makes sense to have a machine most fit to whatever job it needs to do. that includes computers, ESPECIALLY when business is involved and computers are so cheap.
who cares anyway? it's just some cool info for anyone who might want to play with it. if you don't want to overclock, then don't. i won't. i'm happy for the man having a good time with it still....

hi andreD
i'm considering buying a mobo just like you. is it true that you don't need cpu cooling at all with this board, i.e. cpu cooling is "passive" ? (i don't intend to overclock)
thanhs for answering in advance
