If i buy a second hand Pulsar with no software or manuals, is theer a way I can get the board's serial number? Do I need the serail number if I connect it to my existing board?

When you plug it in SFP will tell you the serial number. It's probably got a sticker on it too

You need to know the SN so CWA can actually send you the keys for the SN in question to install Scope. Without knowing the SN you don't get software keys. So you can't really install scope to know what the SN is
Now with existing board in the system you can see SN. But as a stand alone you can not.

this is prolly obvious but if the former owner registered his board with cw online you just need his login info
