Hi,

Seeing I am going to do a reinstall of my PC, can I install Scope version 4.5 as a complete install from scratch or do I have to first install version 4.0 before installing 4.5?

Thanks

yes

download the 4.5 and the manual (and the OXE optional)

1. unzip the 4.5 and the manual in the same directory. burn CD you got 4.5 CD full install

2.Optional: unzip the OXE in a folder called "optional plugins" and add it to the other directory above.

burn the CD you will end up with a full 4.5 version with ALL OXE file for future use in case you need one.

always start with the latest version.

from past experience CWA never released a partial update. Always a full version.

So if you do the 4.5 CD simply start with it.

no need for older versions.

Anyone know any reasons not to install 4.5 on to the previous Scope 4 installation (after backing up presets, projects etc)?
I'd like to avoid having to re-register all my 3rd party stuff and all the other re-organization that accompanies a clean install.

4.0 and 4.5 are virtually the same software with the added bonus plugins.

no need to remove 4.0. simply install on top to replace same files.

you can even install only the new devices and add the SBC manual yourself to the mix.

Not sure that sololy installing new plugins will work because there are some dsp files which might be missing or not being updated. Worth a test anyway (and do a real install if your devices complains!).

installing OXE supposed to put everything where it belongs.

missind DSP file that is due to your OS trying to play a trick on you.

I have installed 4.0 once since its release and added all other extra plugins by installing OXE.

besides anyone can email you the missing file.

Oxe will install devices specific DSP files not "generic" ones shared between SFP, and other devices

I am not sure what you mean.

If you miss a DSP file I can surely send you that file provided you got your key code for that device when asked to cross reference.
