After spending the last few days auditioning most of my plug-ins, I finally got to the demo of Bassman III. This synth is UNBELIEVABLE! Is there anything that even compares to the punch this synth produces? For example, I loaded the SoloMoog1 preset and tried to program the same thing on all the synths I could find. Nothing came close to the beautiful analog sound of this synth. Not even the more expensive ones. Even though I've never tried the Minimax. I'm starting to see why it gets so many good reviews if it sounds at least as punchy and analog sounding as Bassman III. I was starting to think that all the Scope synths have the same sounding waveforms, but Bassman III made me change my mind.

Are there any other scope synths that sound this good?

it's just a question of bass enhancement.
If You have the celmo subbass booster pro or the psy q, can have fat basses with every synth.
For simple sine basses, i use the wavelenght dubsub.

the Celmo stuff does sound extremely good.
One of my favourite 'ultra-light' synths is his little no-nonsense PPGhost.
But even with a 'similiar' basic engine (wavetable osc) the BlueWave features a completely different sound - very musical in tweaking.
This clearly shows that he knows the job
Another great tool is the Tape Echo Simulator - of course the usual dub stuff would work as expected and the 'classical' guitar effect.
But it can do a lot more if you speed it up to a (virtual) situation in which a regular tape would simply burst...
NEVER heard a sharper and more pronounced guitar chorus - not the smooth washed beautifiers, but cut through the mix doubled leads
(should work on synths as well)

cheers, Tom

Celmo's Bassman was my favourite synth for a long time. You can also get some beautiful thick "pure tone pads" from it with the echo unit as well.

The Bassman III just set a new bar for me where sound quality is concerned. Are there any other non-Celmo synths for Scope that sound this good? I was also impressed with the PePper Ghost synth. Is it worth the extra $50 for the Deep Blue or Blue Wave? Are the Deep Blue and Blue Wave much different? They look like they have the same features. Thanks for your help.

The other one I like is the Supreme:

Also, the Deep Blue (which I also have) uses wavetable and so gets a quite different tone to Bassman-III. In fact when originally deciding between Bassman-III and Deep Blue I got Deep Blue just because it got a wider range of sounds.

But I had to rush back within days and get Bassman-III anyway
