Hey,
I had a EMU e6400 sampler, which i never used, because its big, noisy and..
Anyway I am now going to use the STS5000 instead.. and i have downloaded a trial of CDXtract and are testing out diffrent convention. I find .SF2 more easy and clean to use, because of lesser files.

Is there any quality diffrents between SF2 and s/p files? It seems that the release seems more right on the sf2 file.. whats the peoples experiences?

if 16 bit resolution is enough for you, sf2 is ok, but if you need 24 bit resolution samples, go for sts native format.

Thanks man,

The sample cd's are in 16bit, so that will work

by the way, is there any way of converting EMU and akai cd's directly to STS files? a program called CDxtract only convert to .p and .s files. which is not sts..

sts samplers are able to open akai without conversion an then you can save it from the sts menu as sts format, or you can convert entire cd's using the file browser and the paste as sts function.
For the emu format, extreme sample converter should do the conversion.
