hello.
sfp site has "zarg pro-one" and "zarg solo pro-one", small files about 50kb each.
i put them in the oxe folder and ok. but were is the difference?
or is there no difference since i have protone already?
i have seen also a picture of pro-one with the name zarg on it.
is this another synth?
to summarize, i have protone.
can i get pro-one or is it the same?

A potted history:

Zarg Music offered the Pro One some time before CW. Pro One has polyphony plus the sequencer and unison mode. After a while Zarg offered the Pro One SOLO which was a cut-down version at a cheaper price. It was monophonic (hence losing the unison mode) and lost the sequencer. This is the one i bought.

Then CW 'took over' and produced their own Pro One. Zarg pretty much dropped theirs as part of an agreement. The CW Pro One has a more authentic sequencer and arpeg modes - subsequently they are simpler than the Zarg Pro One's as John Bowen added some nice extras (that some people missed on CW's Pro One). It is polyphonic, no unison mode, but adds effects to the output (chorus/flanger and delay). The Zarg versions had no effects.

Later still, when CW re-emerged as CW Audio they renamed their Pro One as proTone. i have CW's earlier Pro One. It is the same just rebadged.

Phew, how confusing was that?

As to sound, well the Zarg Pro One/Pro One SOLO and CW Pro One/proTone do sound distinctly different. i like both but tend to use CW's Pro One these days. As to which is more authentic - i have no idea. i didn't think the Zarg one's were even available anymore.

thank you.
i didn't find it in any shop, i downloaded it from ftp site.
the strange thing is when i put a zarg pro-one.oxe in the oxe file, sfp says installed successfully... having protone installed already what is the difference?

everything i use is legal, bought from creamware.
the zarg pro-one is a small file i am talking about in ftp site.
i downloaded it from ftp site because pro-one is not on sale any more, so i thought it was something that could work with my protone. i put it in oxe file. it didn't ask me for code.
it sais install successful.
but i cannot find any pro-one thing.

i don't think you were meant to have that synth free. John's pro one is a (slightly)different synth than the protone....

if it is not free i am interested in buying it, but when i put it in sfp it does not appear as a choice in synths. maybe i must buy it first?
where is it to buy?

oxes usually install into the plugins folder. as to buying it, that's a matter for John Bowen. email him.
