For example, can I have MDS8 trigger KickMe? Or is everything self-contained in Modular II?

They all output midi data to be received by other synths...

additionally to these exellent patches you can use the modules of my <a href="http://www.worldless.com/sfp/mtb.html" target="_blank">MidiToolBox</a>. They can output midi controller messages and notes and therefor can trigger any synth in your studio, which can receive midi.
