I gues this has been asked before, but i didn't find it by searching...

Simply, i just wanted to ask what you have to do, if you want to sell your CW card? How do you move the registration to another user and so on? Does CW have any restrictions regarding reselling their cards?

I still have nightmares....

Selling the card isn't the problem - transfering the activation codes though - that's where the nightmare begins. Gets worse if you have CW plug-ins to transfer.

You should contact Ralf at CW (who I think is on vacation right now) for specifics. You will have to contact them anyway. Might as well get started now. They will send you some little piece of program that will sniff your PC for some system data. The resulting data file gets emailed back to CW and then magically they provide new activation codes to the new owner. If you're lucky, it won't take more than a month. Look in the on-line shop for the costs to transfer plug-ins. Yes they charge for that now.

It's making me nauseous just thinking about it. Good luck to both you and the new owner!

naw, just sell the card and give your login info to the new customer so that he can change the info on "my page". as long as you don't have any other cards, that's it, you're done.

if you are selling one card and keeping another, however, THEN you'll need to contact creamware to transfer registration.

If you have two cards and you're selling one, there must be some way to register as two users, with two logins...... avoiding all the longwinded stuff.

I've had best luck when selling a card and all it's plugins as one package to just mail rb or jo at creamware.de to notify them to de-register the card's serial number from my profile.

Only after buyer has paid of course!

The card is then available for registration by the new owner. In this way, you're buyer can register all his cards under one profile.

You would not want to publish your card's serial number to everyone though.

Anyway, I think that's how CWA support asked me to proceed on such a sale. It's easy and they're usually pretty prompt in doing a de-registration. Good people, they.

The hard part can come when transferring plugins authorizations between cards - sometimes a slow, excruciating process. But, it doesn't sound like you're doing that. Lucky you!
