nice studio!

Is this the one they built during the postproduction of Return of the King?
There's a bit in the extended dvd that shows how they were trying to mix the sound for that even though they were still constructing the studio around them!

Pardon my stupidity but is this how they usually mix film sound..... in a theatre? Or is this a new trend due to the surround features? Makes sense regardless.

Mixing to the full show ? Seems logical, but there is an alternate view which is less intuitive, but to me seems more attractive. A link someone here posted a while ago, but worth a read if you haven't seen it:

Absurdity makes me laugh. I can just see Darth Vader sitting behind that console and shouting "Set a course for Alderaan!"
Then he looks around, sees he's the only one sitting in the giant absurd cinema, and takes off his helmet and cries a little.
