Go to the ADAPTEC web site, download the ASPI drivers from the following link, already given to you:
http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/suppor ... xe&sess=no
to a folder with the name ASPI drivers version v4.71.2, you’ll be asked to the ADAPTEC, INC. DOWNLOADABLE SOFTWARE LICENSE, go to the end of the page, and tick “yes”. Clik “agree & answer trustfully”. Now there is a blue bottom that says “primary”. Click it, download the files to the folder you created with the ASPI name, right?
Ok, open your folder, and now extract the files inside the folder itself, so you have everything ready to install, you need winzip to do it, ok? Now you can see all the files opened into your folder, you are ready to install:
Search for the following file:
aspiinst
now double click it, in the box that opens, click “install”. A new box will say “ASPI drives are up to date” or similar. Reboot your computer right now,
You are done

Perhaps you have a cd burning app that loads a resident driver and refuses to release winaspi? Try installing in safe mode?
