I know that the Z-link protocol is different than the firewire (1394) protocol, but the connectors look the same...
The thing is, that I want to put my luna 8 I/O box in my 19" rack near my patchbay in that same rack (no money yet for a 2nd hand A 16 Ultra  ). But the current Z-link cable from my pc to that rack will be too short to reach my rack.
So my question is, can I use a longer firewire cable just to be able to connect my Luna box over this longer distance? Are the connections inside a firewire cable the same as a Z-link cable?

cheers Darce

(I apologise if this is a frequently asked question, but I can't find any other topic, with the search option.)

Here's some good news. It's a normal 6-pin firewire cable.

Ah thanks for the quick reply

I knew it had to be that simple.
Ah well, fortunately I don't mind making a fool of myself
