Been offered a MicroModular for £150. I know it's a cut down version but I can't afford the full version and it seems like a good price. I've been playing with the G2 demo and love the sounds. What do you think - is it worth it?

The MicroModular and G2 aren't the same generation/synth engine. I've never played with a MicroModular, but I have extensive experience with the NordLead2, which is the same generation as the MicroModular, and it's absolutely wonderful. I'd definitely pick one up for that price, even if it's a bit limited (single DSP chip, so probably 4 voices-ish for a "standard" va-synth-ish patch.)

It is tempting and I can use it for a hardware effect as well if I can figure out the routing using Scope.
It's dificult to decide though because I was saving for Solaris (with RD modules). I think Solaris is much more adaptable but on the other hand there's something I like in the Nord sound - very smooth and pleasing whearas Solaris seems more complex but slightly harsher. Decisions decisions...

Get the micro. one of the patches is the nordlead2. but you'l have to design you own presets for that patch. as the the patch itself is default to a crap sound.
