There is a new reverb called "room worx" and it should sounds better than A or B...

I heard it's the same as the freeware/donationware Ambience (www.smartelectronix.com) with a modified GUI.

I assume everyone here is using SX3 - are any of you haveing problems with MIDI latency and external synths? There is a thread on it here:

Yes, it seems to be the same...
Even the sound
Fortunately, I like the sound of ambience.
The export-fuction looks interesting!

Wow! That's quite an assumption

It is, unfortunately, incorrect.

I use SL (v.2 at the moment) myself, and there's quite a few people running logic on Macs.

Royston

p.s. re: new reverb == ambience, nice to see that Steinberg are still as big a bunch of slackers as ever!

DESPITE the fact that they've brought out 2x patches for SL2 (the last one FINALLY addressing the issue of insets being post-fader!), both the mixer and channel tracks meters still DO NOT display audio activity on the right channel (i.e. for a mono track). Cheers, Steinberg!

There's even a few stubborn logic PC users!

I use Cubase SX 2.X. I am curious about Tracktion. I like Cubase but I'm not upgrading to version 3 because I don't see a compelling reason and it's an expensive upgrade. I just bought Ambience so I don't need the improved reverb.

Improved, maybe but it sucks bigtime  and not compared to Warp's, but also Masterverb is such a superior class....

I went to sx3 from sx1, as sx1 was really a shame for it's limitations, I couldn't stop with vst 5.1 and used sx1 only for UV22hr.
Now, if they fix it, sx3 looks nice.
I hope that Yamaha makes things better, as the actual phylosophy of selling to betatesters (us...) is horrible.

I've finally solved the midi timing issues with sx 3.01.
I've bought a midex to get time accurate timing (LTB). I was stunned that the same problems still did occur. the behaviour was that notes start on time this way, but after a couple of measures notes seems to drift away from my vsti's or audio wav files. There were severe timing issues.

After a lot of testing i've discovered that the fault was in my creamware card. My creamware card acted as a master for syncing the midi clock. In sx3 this seems to be not working anymore, however, i;m not sure it's the fault of sx3 anymore. Maybe the clock is just 'broken'. What i did was synced my card to the wordclock on my ADAT. All my troubles went away !!! I've never experienced such a solid steady system.

So i'm happy now.

I've also discovered that setting the buffersize lower than 1024 with my creamware midi results in shifted notes during recording. The recorded position of the notes seems to be related to the buffersize that i've defined.
Switching to the midex solved this problem for me. (buffersize of 1024 was not an option for me).
