I'm purchasing a new scope proffesional system that comes with the mixer and synth bundles and also a second hand scope card (for extra dsp) that may not be running latest version (4.0?). Do I need to buy additional licence to use the second hand cards dsp with scope 4.0 software and am I gonna have to upgrade the card to latest version?

by next to nothing
you dont have to upgrade anything. the new/second hand card will just show up as extra dsp in your existing SCOPE enviroment.
Be sure to get STDM cables for interconnecting the cards though.
when you register your cards for SCOPE 4 you will be able to buy a plugin at cw at half price .

A CWA email lately announced the end of this possibility, so you'd better do it fast

BTW you can do it more than once by entering the registry page again...
