I was wondering. If you remove the I/O plate from a 6/14 DSP card, does it then automaticly become a booster? Or do you have to do more for that?

I mean the Scope SRB, which is now called 14 DSP Booster.
So the question once again is:
Does a Scope card become a Scope SRB when you remove the I/O Plate?

I would say so - and in case you want to sell the card it's the proper naming

An SRB (or Booster) card doesnt include any software keys. It is just plain DSPs. If you remove the I/O plate from a Scope card it wont become simply a Booster card, because there are still software keys for it.

I thought Booster/SRB/XTC Cards (whatever you name it), come with a bunch of plugins? (e.g. the Pulsar XTC had a bunch of plugins).

XTC was marketed independantly most likely because it did come with plugins & XTC functionality.

And now they are marketing 'DSP booster' with software (thomann.de). XTC has disappeared. Anyway, never seen any Creamware card without software.

or a Scope board without I/O.
CWA now sell the SRB with plugins only (mix and synth packs) and not Scope software. this means another DSP card is required to run the SCOPE software. So if you have a luna with this new booster then you will have access to all the extra plugins that are now part of the SCOPE professional.
