Hiya... what's the best CW chorus in your opinion? Orbitone or the native CW?
Carl.

Theres one more I believe. Its called Hexa Chorus and sounds pretty sweet. Has a warm feel to it.

The Orbitone Psy-Fi stuff is stunning, and has a creamy sound that I've never heard from anything else, although it's maybe more of a Flanger/Phaser set than a chorus. What I particularly like about it is that you can turn the LFO off and turn the frequency control via MIDI, using it like a cutoff knob on a filter.

Hexa Chorus is great. Really nice and smooth, dreamy-like.

I saw that Sonic Timeworks are about to release a chorus as well. Hmm...

I have a bunch of Philips screwdrivers in my toolbox. Some have different colored handles. Some are covered in rubber so they're easier to grip when your hands get greasy. Some are long. Some are short. I even have one that's bent at a 90 degree angle. The tips all look pretty much the same until you stick it in the screw and find out one's too big or too small or isn't quite right.
The point is, effects are like that too. Personally, I think they all have merit.
In all my mixing projects with Pulsar, I've tried to fall in love with one of the Chorus effects and couldn't. It seemed to me that what worked well in one situation didn't seem so good in another. The same is true with any of the modulation type effects.
I came to the conclusion long ago, that an effect (any effect) has it's particular time and place. Old crappy weird stomp boxes are highly sought after. Not because they were the best but because they were weird and were perfect for a particular task. Maybe you only took it out every once in a while. But weren't you glad you had it when you needed it?
So don't get hung up on the best. There isn't such a thing. Learn how to use each one and then when the time comes, you'll instinctively know which one to use.

Well... I agree with you. In a way. My all-time favourite synth is still Sumsynth in Reaktor 4 and know it inside out (mainly because I can control it via MIDI), but I don't use it for everything.
Why I'm asking, is naturally because I want to good advices. You guys have the good taste of having CW cards and therefore I assume you choose your chorus effects with the same passion
Carl.

How primitive! in this country we have something called "robertson" screws. all robertson screwdrivers of each size fit them prerfectly
I dont know how you guys can even build a house with those things.
you know what the funniest part is? the best robertson driver bits are made in the USA!
