Thanks to the generous 50% off offer for SFP 4 regstration I was face withe the choice last night of what to buy. Of the plugins I have not yet purchased, I really wanted 6-string but thats not part of the 50% deal.

Feeling slightly deflated I plumped for Optimaster. I had downloaded the demo a long time ago but had not really 'got' what it did and thought 200 euro was a bit expensive as I already use a UAD-1 for mastering.

Ho boy. Was I wrong. This afternoon I have spent some time looking at some old tracks and trying them with Optimaster. The results are way better than I was getting using UAD-1 plugins (NB. I'm not knocking UAD, its mainly my lack of talent!) The key with Optimaster is that it gives great results without me having to spend ours tweaking controls (usually the wrong way ).

If you are wondering what to get with the 50% deal, dont forget Optimaster!

cheers

Agree - luv it

Over on the Sonar users forum, I was involved in a bit of an experiment recently where a few of us took the same piece of music and mastered it and posted the results for all to hear. I used Optimaster/PSYQ and the results were as good as anyone else's. Some were using T-Racks and Ozone. I guess the point is that you can do good work with anything but Optimaster is definitely worth the money. Good bang for the buck.

I luv the Wizard function - use it all the time. Not always perfect but gets you in the ballpark.

Enjoy.
