I have limited funds (about 100Euros) and just want to expand and enrich my sound base. I know it's difficult to compare the products but I just would like to know your opinion: which would you choose: Ambient, Rotor Jr. or Flexor? I'm into ambient pads, sweeps and so on. While the Rotor Jr. and Ambient sound demos are quite similar in mood I don't know if Flexor is capable of doing such things, too. Thanks for your answers in advance

I'm not familiar with the other devices you mention, but I'd say: Flexor! For the money, it's a snip.
Perhaps demo the three devices to see which suits your needs more? There are probably some nice ambient & sweepy Modular/Flexor pads to be found here and also at Adern to try-out.
I too have limited funds at the moment: £1.35

Roll-on pay day...

I would like to say that all the rotor synths John Bowen have made, are absolutely stunning. I think I would purchase the ordinary rotor synth first, as it is a bit more powerful. You will get totally "out-of-this-world" ambiant-pad sounds, that I've never heard anywhere else. This would certainly give you some very unuseal sounds in your arsenal.
Rotor3 sounds a bit more lush, while RotorJr has a bit more metallic edge to it, although both sound great.
But I guess if you're a modular user, the flexor has more possiblities. Solution: Get both!

Id like to add my two cents here.
I have no experience of flexor or rotor, but I do own the Zarg Ambient. It was the first third party product I purchased and I was totally blown away by it. If you as you say, are interested in a synth especially for sweeping pads and so on, there is no better choice than the Ambient. Its a monster! An absolute sweeping ambient monster!
Flexor is probably a very good product to have anyway. But if you want a quick launch to ambient pad heaven, get the Zarg Ambient

It seems I'd better collect money for both Ambient and Flexor

Sometimes impossible is possible

Thanks guys. I thought the answer won't be easy
