Hi all,

This just occured to me and wonder if this would work or not, being that you cant use XTC mode on a PC unless you are using Scope ASIO drivers, I wonder if you could have another PCI asio driver in a main PC and then place the Scope card in a secondary PC that does not load SFP but has the card set up as an XTC system only.

Then you can connect the Pulsar into your seuqencer host via network cards and be able to use the XTC apps as if they were in the same box as the main and also be able to use your soundcard of choice, so lets say ya wanna use a Lynx/RME/Motu whatnot as your ASIO card, with FXteleport you could get the VST capabilities as if they were all in the same box and probably not have to deal with PCI buss overload issues either.

Any thoughts if this would work or not?

Cheers!

Theoretically, yes

Good luck calculating the latency on that

Valis,

It was my understanding that FXteleport read would read the 2nd PC as if the plugs were in the same system. I use Nuendo 2 which has PDC so in theory if it actually worked there would be no latency, which is why I was curious. Of course the big downside to this is the loss of using SFP and any 3rd parties that are not XTC compatible.

But it does open the option to using zero jitter cards like the Lynx and RME stuff as your main ASIO drivers, not to mention the top notch converters available from Lynx.

Cheers!

If your planning on having another computer anyway, just use SFP, it's way better option than FX teleport.

PDC does not remove latency. It's still there, PDC just makes sure everything has the same latency and keeps in sync.

This does not work- I tried it. The card still needs sample clock information from nuendo that it will not get when the program is not holding it directly. I even tried loading chainer with the card set in XTC mode to hold the asio drivers open- but then the XTC fx go to chainer and not to FXT.

That is why if you want to run XTC mode with a different IO card you have to have to clock defeater key (creamware will give you one)- I wanted to use XTC fx and use the adat io for gigastudio but nope.
