AFAIK Reason doesn't output MIDI. So you're limited to ASIO, unless you use Reason in a Rewire host like Cubase.

What you can do to synchronise Flexor sequencers is to program a ramp (saw up) on a sample track, send it to its own ASIO channel and feed it to the sequencers in modular or to shapers and modulation. The will run sample tight...
Other commands can be sent over ASIO, but that I leave to your personal imagination.

You can use SCOPE Midi Ports as well as the ASIO channels within Reason.

The MIDI ports are only for sync and remote control, right? Can Reason play a DSP synth? (It's been some versions since I've used it)

No it can not. Reason don't have midi out, it's part of the concept.

That simply means: You can play and record into Reason with the SCOPE Midi ports and listening thru the audio ports from SCOPE if you use the ASIO modules.
You can not control SCOPE Synths or other modules with the Reason Sequencer because it doesn't throw out any midi signals.
That are two "one ways"
Midi: SCOPE --> Reason
Audio: Reason --> SCOPE

I have SX1 connected with Reason 2.5.
I make only computer music (no direct audio recordings). I think that Reason is very
user friendly (workflow and ideas). I use both sequencers:Reason's and Cubase's. I don't want to control Scope or SX's vst's via Midi in Reason (there is no need to)!!!!
Is it posible to connect cubase Sx1 and Reason rewired together to SCOPE???
How?

thanx

in cubase SX
go into 'Devices' and choose 'Device Setup' towards the bottom of the list.

Then choose the 'VST Multitrack' item in the left-hand list.

On that page in the 'setup' tab choose "ASIO Scope" in the top 'ASIO Driver' selection menu. Also refer to the folder called 'ignoreportfilter' inside your cubase directory. That folder has a textfile that can help improve midi timing to external devices. Also see the multiple threads here on midi timing as they're mostly concerned with cubase sx & tweaking your DAW to get better midi timing.

Simple: Load SFP. Load SX. Activate Rewire in SX for Reason. Load Reason. Now the transport controls for both programs will be sync'ed, Reason -as it's opened as last- changes the SX bpm. You can now set the bpm from Sx again. Press play, and Reason can be mixed from the VST mixer. You can finally use VST effects on the Reason tracks :grin:
SX will be hosting Reason, a bit like it hosts VSTi. You can automate Reason parameters from SX or from Reason, as you prefer. SX does the ASIO handling in this setup. SX can take all available Scope ASIO IO's and mix Reason channels etc.

Have fun :smile:
