hello everyone.

i dont know if its a problem but ill ask anyway,
few moment ago i connect my cable box ( that i see tv with ) to the hardware input of my pulsar card , open soundforge and start recording from this input .
i saw that my computer become very slow so i
open my task manager ind see that the cpu
usage is 100% and remain like that until i stop the recording .
when the sound forge is open it workes fine so i asume that when i record the cpu need a lot of sources or is it a problem.

p4 2.4
asus p4pe
maxtor fireball9 (8mb buffer)

peace

I record like this all the time (16-bit 44KHz) up to about 15 minutes with virtually no CPU drain on my P4 1.8 (lots of other apps open). What sort of input is your cable ?

I only ever saw this problem with Sound Forge 7 (the one with Sony logo's everywhere). Try going back a version to see if it disappears... if so, then it's a Sonic Foundry problem IMHO.

hi
this must be Sound Forge related.
I'm just doing some transfers from a reel to reel recorder to my DAW.
I record through a stereoreceiver and into
Adobe Audition. Longest file so long, is
1h 33m+ (2*mono 16bit 44,1)

At the old Cool Edit forum, they claimed to
record well over 2h - it's possible in SFP too!!
