I found these links at http://www.chrismilne.com/uadforums/

regarding "Powerstrip" a program that displays and lets you change pci latency for various pci/agp adapters.

some adapters, such as agp and network cards seem to hog the pci bus with way too high latencies.

i haven't tried it myself but appearently some has with great results.

might be worth a look.

well i wouldn't be so sure, i'm on i850 and i get confronted with some crackles when i put a heavy load on my Luna2 + 2xUad-1 combo.

i know there's millions of places where to look for crackle-reasons but this certainly seems like one of them.

I'm on A7M266, which is famous for its good PCI-bus. But when I load a fat Steinway sample, my good Timeworks reverb 4080 L and play a virtuos chorus, I can bet a box of champaign, that it crackles!
Let's wait for the next PCI generation! I hope CW will follow.
