I want to get into modular synthesis - could I use Modular III with the Flexor modules with the Pulsar 3 Card? or will it be too limiting. ((or is PowerPulsar the only way?)
I was also thinking of the Nord G2 Engine which will be the same price I think ??
Please help me with my decision - I don't want to pay more than £800 - I've got Reaktor 4 but I'd prefer wiring the modules up on the user interface. Also, could someone explain the advantages of the modular/flexor system over Reaktor 4 ?

Do you mean a Pulsar 2 card? If so, no problem using Mod III and Flexor. Some of the patches use up a lot of dsp though, polyphony may be low. As far as I'm concerned, the main advantage Mod III has over Reaktor is SOUND QUALITY. And yes, I'm screaming that.

Yes! Absolutely, compared to Reaktor SFP Mod3 is way above in sound quality. The G2 has gained in sound quality though, compared to Nord Modular (G1), so I really
don´t know which one I would recommend when it comes to sound quality.
Go for both

If you want a rock solid system, go for the G2 mod. I'm sure people will agree with me, but the Pulsar Mod platform is not without its shortcomings. There are some bugs that need to be worked out before it qualifies for the "heavy duty studio gear" line. IMHO, I tend to value stability over sound quality. (hey, it's the basic)

well, I had a nord micromodular at one point and i hated the interface. I also couldn't produce anything that I really liked, sonically, with that system. Now I have ModIII/Flexor running on a Pulsar II, and I find both the interface and sound to be far superior. Flexor is a must if you use ModIII.
