I would like to have a list of all existing third party modules available for the modular system, I think I am missing great ones.
Thank you

I already got this package, and yes it is really good.I will soon submit a Jomox sounding drum patch made with those modules (I own the machine but I amuse myself to reproduce its sound and controls, really close, really).
I heard about j9k, are there others ?

Check out Ben Walker's
Modular Corner to get a full list of available modules!

Actually, the list is not quite up to date on my site, as I haven't included any of the Zarg Red Dwarf II modules.
The RD Modular Osc module, for example, allows you to load any one of a number of RD Osciallators into the Modular.
I've only recently started properly experimenting with the RD Modules in the Modular, but they are well worth checking out.
There are two modular modules in the RD pack - one for Oscillators and the other for Filters.
The RD modules (of which there are Oscillators, Filters, Envelopes, etc, etc) can also be used in of the Zarg 'semi-modular' synths, like Solaris, REd Dwarf EX, etc, etc.
For more info see the
<a href="
http://www.johnbowen.com/reddwarfdescri ... escription" target="_blank">Zarg Red Dwarf page</a>.
I'll try and bring my site up to date with a full list of modules soon.
Cheers,
Ben

Thank you for the lists, I am dowloading them.
By the way I posted a sample of the bass drum I made in the music section, just take a look.

Are most of the Red Dwarf modules duplicates of Creamware modules? I see UKNOW Osc, UKNOW Filter, etc.

Some are duplicates, but others are exclusive to Zarg.
For example, the VS Osc's, the CEM Osc's (which I think are the Osc's from the Prophet series) and the Spectral Oscs, amongst others.
The other advantage of the RD concept of course is that replacing one OSC in a patch with another is no more than a matter of right-clicking and choosing another Osc. No rewiring required.

I am very interested in the Obsidian modules, where can I get them ?
Thank you

Hmm, Blackstone Software site has changed since I was last there - no mention of any audio products there, nor any contact details, so I'm not sure how you can get hold of these any more.
Sorry,
Ben

I've got the Obsidian Toolbox - about 200 modules & dsp files. The DSP files were causing all sorts of problems with my SFP installation, so I removed them years ago, haven't used the stuff since.
I think this is Obsolete Toolbox.
I don't know about the copyright issue - this product and the manufacturer are no longer available (although you can try to contact Guy Eastwood), but I'd send the bundle to you if you want to try them out. I'll consider it a transfer of ownership since I don't use it.

Same here... Bought the Obsidian pack once. I have them installed but I can't remember using one of the modules. They're mod1 modules and most of the functions exist in mod2/3 or can be easily re-created using existing modules.

OK.
So, is there an equivalent to the asymmetric slew limiter of this package ?
And in general, how can I build asymmetrical processes in my modular patches (ModIII + Flexor) ? Perhaps using diodes ?
Asymmetric distortion looks great, very curious to try.
Thank you

a slew limiter can be built with a xfademod mdl and a xmodfb mdl. hook the xmodfb output up to one of the inputs of the crossfade. send the audio or control signal through the other input and use the knob on the xfademod mdl to control the slew.

This slew limiter is really an excellent effet, a kind of filter which does not cut high frequencies, sound gets warmer, very impressed.
Thank you again J9K ...

j9k, isn't it 6dB/oct. lowpass filter?
i thought slew limiters are like evelope follower, with separate rise and fall time, just without rectifier?

yes it is a 6 db lowpass filter.

The toolbox is something other. There are some free Obsidian Modular modules but I have to dig in my library to find them. If I do then I'll contact you

I never use the Obsidian modules, yes, Obsolete Toolbox describes it well
The modules are now properly done by CW and j9k largely. Also remember, the Obsidian modules are from the times of mod1.
