No matter how many times I update my Flash Media Player, I am constantly being asked to update it again.

The time has come to revolt!

Bocott Flash and all other Adobe products. They pester countless millions of people every minute of the day!

Adobe? I thought it was Macromedia (?!)

Can't stand it myself...if you change your browser to Mozilla, it behaves differntly to IE in that you never get a 'download request' dialog, or huge loading delays, just an innocuous link to click on should you wish to download it.

As previosuly reported - Flash is for cleaning your kitchen floor

I love Flash, especially when he runs so fast his molecules can pass through walls...

Just spotted your 'From', Paul.

It’s bizarre to me you can hate Flash so much. I truly love it! The more I go into Flash, the more I find it a revolutionary animation jewel. I have had Flash player installed for many years, always updating and had no problems at all. The only thing a can say about Flash is that has gave me lots of enjoyable times.

You should clean it up completely, remove all registry remains and then install it again. Then it should be fine.

The Just for Laughs Festival is the best but I admit I don't like crowds so I don't go. We get some taped shows on the tube so we get to see the highlights. I really should have gone to see Eric Idle though... He knows how to flash pretty well, eh?

Disable active scripting. Enable it only when you specifically need it. This will stop all sorts of pop ups! You will lose some functionality depending on the site.
For someone like me that uses the internet mainly for information I can live without all the trendy gimmicks! I only have dialup access so flash sites get a wide berth if they don't have a non-flash link. I don't use the internet enough at this point in time to justify the cost of broadband access. I think it's still too expensive here in Oz at the moment.

You're right, Nestor, they should one day make a version that's backward compatible with previous versions. I just installed v7 2 minutes ago, next site uses v6, then why do we have to reinstall it!?

 Today a friend asks if he can play with my homepage.
he convinced me to do it in swish, apparently a lighter version of flash which doesnt require updating all the time. Here is his homepage, at least myself and some friends didnt need flash update to view it: http://www.ske-productions.com/

This makes interesting reading for the future of flash:

Ups, this is pretty serious for developers, and I am becoming one of them...

Nestor, becoming a developer? Study the "way of working" and principles. Tools come and go but programming is always the sme. At least almost

I'd study SVG and SMIL indeed, not as common yet, though, but they are The Future

Never heard of that site. Does this news have any credibility ? Sounds a bit like wishful scare-mongering to me.

Any news about this on any "real" developers news site ?

Macromedia figures no big deal you can update it quickly but what they don't realize is that they are not the only company making these constant demands. I feel sorry for people with dialup. I have a popup blocker but when asked I never give my real name or any information and I always give a dummy email account that I don't use when forced to give an email account.

Could you please tell me more about it?
