It seems that there R new chipsets 4 athlon...
Does someone tried tho with 1 or 2 pulsars?
do they work better than via (I'd better change only my
motherboard)

What capacity can I expect with a raid controller and ATA100
drives? (number of tracks/ frequency / 16-24-32bits)

Subject: Yes

The last AMD chipsets seams OK about PCI performances...
Don't about ATA100, but enough for 90% of the DAW usage.
Do you need to record simultaneously 48 stereo audio track at 24b/96khz?? Yes? Forget IDE. Otherwise, ATA 100 is sufficent.

Subject: R those chipset able to stand such a flow in their PCI?

Dear anonymous, do you rec 48 tracks at once with your AMD processor???
I'm thinking about putting a 2nd Pulsar (with 3*adat connectors),
so I would have 44 inputs and won't be breathless too soon in dsp powR... But I really fear the PCI bandwith with such audio engine... I'd really like to go on with AMD (the FPU is really kickass and a cheap duron is as powerfull as a PIII... and I really don't like Intel) The only thing I regret, is having a F**King VIA chipset on my KT7... arghhh... Anybody having a pet that defecates mony?
