hello everyone .
i'd like to know if i am sharing the same
thing about the heating of my pulsar2.
i have notice that the card is very hot when i touch it .

1.is this normal ?
2.does it affect the efficiency of the card
when it is hot like this ?
3.i use little slot fan ( if you know what
i'm talking about) but it doesn't make eny
significant chane to the heating of the
card , what solusion will be suitable
for coling the card or i shouldn't worry
about it ?

i'm using :
p4 2.4
asus p4pe
512mb kingstone

Is you PC overclocked? If it is, that'll raise the temperature. How many fans are in your case? I've got three boards and 2 fans in the front, 2 in the back, one on the disk drives and the power supply fan (6).

If you add a couple of fans, it should keep it cooler. Temperature will probably increase generally when a lot of processing is occurring. Try using a utility like ASUS Probe to gauge how hot the rest of your PC is running (CPU and mobo) then you'll get an idea if other components run hot as well.

the heat is fine, these chips are used in missiles ( no joke ) they can get red hot and still perform...

also ever played a game for an hour then touch your video card? I have one with the heatsink which wraps around the card, I still have the scar ;(

No doubt. I had a Radeon VE with no fan, but a heatsink, and it got pretty toasty.

I do think adding some airflow will add to the life of the machine, whilst improving efficiency a bit. Nothing to be concerned about, but it's good to be aware.

I like the new aluminum cases, because they don't retain as much heat.
