So, the 16 Wave Interleaved module is perfectly fine then? (That's the only one that works with Sam anyway)
How long have you been using Sam? Other than tripleDAT, Sam kicks a#%!

Hi Z, I'm not sure who you want to respond, but I'll jump in anyway,
I have never used the interleaved drivers with Samp, I always use the 24 bit wave dest/source modules and I've never used Tdat either, but I've been a Samplitude user for 4 or so years, before that I was using multitrk tape stuff and sequencing with my trusty Atari and Cubase, best midi timing I ever had, oh well that's progress for you
cheers davo

I suppose it is the demo version that limits Pulsar to 16bit. I currently am not able to use the 24bit Wav Src/Dest mods. Sam only works with the 16 Wav Interleaved....
And, thw 24bit Wav is only 2 channels

Can't you just drag another 24 bit dest/source module into your project, I have 8 dest mods in a project so I can record 8 stereo or 16 mono traks, depending on how I set samp up (BTW right clicking on the 'rec' button in the VIP window in sam allows you to set mono, stereo,L,R recording).
Sam will also allow you to playback on different "source modules" so to speak. At the bottom of each trk strip in the mixer you have output, click on the box and it will list all your outputs (depending on how many 24bit source mods you have set up)
Setting up a total of 8 24bit stereo i/o is all win98 handles, you do this thru the Pulsar properties > settings - input/output devices in the System Properies > Device Manager. Sorry if you know all this.
All in all you can set up individual trks or groups (sub mixes) to come back to the pulsar mixer if ya want.
just to fill your head with more stuff next to that input box (Sam Mixer)is a button "FX"
click this to change effects routing of each trk separately
What can I say Sam has thought of everything

cheers davo

Same here

I tried the 24 wave but that doesn't work either. The only thing that works with Sam is the 16 Wave Interleave module. That should be 24bits, correct? Anyway, Samplitude is recording and playing at 24bits (display on the bottom right), but, why doesn't the Pulsar's profile show beyond 16/44.1? I've loaded all 24bit modules on SFP before starting Sam but Pulsar's sampling rate is still limited to 16/44.1, according to Sam's profile?
Am I overlooking something here?

Is anyone using Samplitude synced to Cubase/logic(using these for midi only).
If so is it stable?
Thx!

Want to use several tweaked Windows OS and several drivers configurations with just one machine?
http://www.hyperos2002.com
I will soon know the truth about the different Pulsar'softs in the different Windows OS, coz I'm building a 20 Windows OS system with Hyperos 2002 r6.
This soft is incredible, it gives us reliability and performances associated with versatility, with Windows OS!!!!
Associated with 98lite Pro
http://www.litepc.com/index.html , I think it is possible to make Windows systems that has an equal reliability than dedicated hardwares!!!!!!
Example: 98Micro+Samplitude+Pulsar 2.5 for recording.
Give a favour to yourself: buy this software!!!!

I must say I've done multitrack 2496 live recording with 98SE+Samplitude+Pulsar 2.5
With XP and SFP Creamware's 24bit WDM drivers, I had some issues. Haven't tried 98SE with SFP.
Now I'm rebuilding totally my system, and I'll check all this thoroughly

"So, the 16 Wave Interleaved module is perfectly fine then? (That's the only one that works with Sam anyway)"
Do you use the latest Creamware software?
Because right under your 16bit interleaved you have 24bit (but those are interleaved on my PC)
What are interleaved drivers anyway?

i use the 24bit wave drivers and yes,you can use more than one in a project.but syncing logic to samplitude seems pointless.logic handles audio well and sounds great.i mixdown to samplitude from logic(in real time via a sfp mixer).it is a great mastering tool and i definitely could see using samplitude for all the audio if i didn't use midi.still why go thru the trouble of syncing programs when it is not helpfull?it is better to have 1 engine running things.(logic has the better plugs too....for mixing anyway)

Found out on another board that 16 bit wdm only works under XP.If you want 24 bit to work you have to go to Win98.
I think interleaved drivers were built for logic.

Hi Music Manic, yes to both q's. Make Samplitude master and sync Cubase to it. I use Hubbi's MIDI Loopback and have no problems at all with sync stability.

So, whith Win-XP the 24-bit wave drivers don´t work ??
"Interleaved" drivers mainly handle stereo pairs in a different way, that´s all. Some applications can handle "split stereo" and some "interleaved stereo" and other application can handle both or do convert from one to the other.

Sunshine

My conclusion is that the Sam Trial's interface is only limited to 16bit/44.1KHz rate but internal processing is still at 32bit FP, 24bit/96KHz. So it is not "completely" in its full capacity.
But, after playing a while with SamPro, all I can say is that "I am totally sold!". Can't wait for v6.5 + ASIO support.

The Samplitude demo is not limited
There is an issue in XP, with the Creamware's WDM drivers and XP.
This problem doesn't exist with Windows 98.

I'm using Win98SE + SFP 3.1a
Logic P5 recognises Pulsar at 24/96.
Sam only displays 16/44.1 (refer to previous pic post).
Hey, (Davo or Grok) do you know when v6.5 + ASIO support be out?
If I purchase 6.0 now, am I able to upgrade to 6.5 free?
Still researching Samplitude/Magix AG...

magix has been charging for upgrades lately.

Really?! Hmmm.... I'll just have to wait for 6.5 + ASIO support then.. Still digesting Logic P5 anyway. At least, I know which will succeed my 3DAT. Thanks Gary B.!

24-bit drivers won't work in XP.
They work fine with WinMe.
Use wav source/dest. modules - NOT interleaved.
Everything - all resolutions work with Samplitude and Creamware Pulsar cards - again, under Win98se/Me.
I suggest buying Samplitude before the dust settles with Emagic. It might be cheaper 'upgrading' rather than waiting for 6.5 (???)

I had all wav modules on the SFP project environment and the 16 Wav Interleaved module is the only one that worked. I really think that the trial version, albeit full version, is only limited to recognise sound cards at 16/44.1 even if the card is capable at higher capacities. Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong but that's all I can muster out of Samplitude.
The Wav files are 16bit yet Sam plays it at 24bit. I have yet to check the Wav file elsewhere.
Cheers!
