Yeh, but Bronyaur has MUCH more DSPs & a FASTER system, yet still, he gets the same No of MV's ...crazy :???:

Don't know much about systems with RDRAM ...

actual pci performance has nothing to do with processor and bus speeds. bx chipsets still outperform via kt400 chipsets. it is about motherboard and chipset architecture and design, and the design of other devices on the bus and the corresponding drivers...

hence, I'd imagine it's having 'disabled' virtually all mobo components that aren't needed, that gives us 14 MVs on the old NV2 A7N8X. Same probably applies to the system AndreD built for HerVoigt.
The main power of AD and WD boards is the native performance, even @ 4ms lantency

huh, if we're talking about plain masterverbs (not the pro) this thing gets up to 13

on the 14th it keeps asking for a registration

you bet! this laptop is quite amazing.. when i'm finished with all the testing, i'll sure post the specs of the system in the old magma/laptop thread

Here is my results;

1) Gigabyte K8NS Ultra-939 / AMD64 X2 4400+ 4x 512MB Apacer PC3200

2) Scope Pro / Pulsar II / Pulsar II (no IO) / PowerCore FW / 3x UAD1 inside 7-slot Magma

3) Matrox P750

4) 13 Masterverbs, Dsp mem capacity on 14th.

- HP/Compaq system with Pentium 4 2.66 and 1GB RAM (don't know which motherboard)
- Matrox G550
- Pulsar 2 and Scope SRB

18 masterverbs loaded with a bit of optimizing. DSP memory limit reached before PCI overflow.

sidenote: This (cheap-ass, stock) PC has been really amazing to me. I've been running it for over 2 years now and it never failed on me, everything runs extremely smooth and stable (both Creamware and sequencing/hd-recording).
At first I Creamwarized it as a temporary solution (I wanted to custom-build a machine for my Creamware cards) but I ran so beautifully I never got to that point!

1. AMD64 3500MHz, MSI K8N NEO4 Platinum nForce4 (socet 939), 2x512 ram Kingston

2. Pulsar2 + Pulsar2(12 dsp) + 2xUAD-1

3. GeForce 6200 (passive heatsink)

4. 16 Masterverbs. No PCI band overflow.

intel p4 2,4Mhz - asus p4pe
2*512Mb crucial - matrox p650

pulsar2 + srb + powersampler =15dsp

pci owerflow with the
15th MasterVerbPro / 19 MasterVerb

Asus P4P800 SE
P4 3.0GHz
2 GB RAM

Pulsar 2 classic + Pulsar 2 XTC = 12 DSP
.. running on 1 STDM-cable.

I get DSP capacity limit on loading the 17th M.verb, which is what you expecet when reading of the DSP meter.

Exemplary performance !!

16 Masterverbs on 12 DSPs is one of, if not, THE best result on the thread.

Very interesting

Cool .

I had to re-check to be sure, and I can load 16 without problems. And for what it's worth, the project wasn't completely empty - I had some ASIO- and WDM-drivers, as well as a Switch-it, loaded.

Both cards share IRQ 5. I have also disabled some USB-controllers I don't use. And I did some basic audio-optimizing when I installed the system. But it's starting to become a long time ago.

GPU in the AGP-slot is a Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro Atlantis with 128MB.

I just upgraded to a GeForce 7800 GS. It some how screwed with the IRQ a bit, the Pulsars are on 4 asnd 7 now, respectively, but still the same performance. They are not sharing with anything.

1) IBM NetVista (chipset class: intel 82845 G/GL/GE/PE/GV/E), Pentium 4 2.5Ghz (not with HT), 1 gb ddr. I dont have a clue about mother board. But its a prebuild ibm with build in Intel Extreme Graphics (which is disabled)

2) 1x pulsar2, 2xlunar2 with 1 stdm connecting them all

3)GeForce4 Ti 4800SE

4)12 MasterVerbs on 13/14 i got pci capacity limit reached.

no os tweaks done. running usb midi in/out, usb midi controller and usb wlan.

is there any gain in using two stdm cables?

1)Abit AG8 (3rd Eye), 1Gb DDR333, P4 3Ghz

2)Pulsar2 + Luna2 (9 DSP's)

3)Ati Radeon X300 (to be replaced...)

4)12 Masterverbs, 9 Masterverb Pro's

This is the best benchmarked motherboard I've used, but sadly only 2 pci slots on this mobo....
