hahaha
i'm back!

For getting CWA alive again, they MUST consider the Value of their product
just like what i used to said, and what most of the CW loyal army hate: the @Quality/performace/price/strability@
Howwever, time has proven that CW's way of selling their products and dealing with their costomers won't work.

CWA should:
1. Improve the stability, useablity of their XTC mode
2. Fixed up critical bugs in XTC mode
3. make all better plugins work stably in XTC mode
4. make 15DSP card as standard, the performance is the same as TC powercore and uad-1 (base on how many quality plugins can be run on one card)
5. if can't, then make a tc poco Classic reverb-(quality) plugin that can have 8 instance in the 6DSP card

[ I M P O R T A N T ]@@@@6.@@@@ put the special-force as standard plugin for the package, eg. TCpowercore- classReverb, UAD-1, compressor,
maybe a Scope , minimoog,juno,pro-one

@@@@ XTC is the way to GO @@@@
all-in-on music creation software is the trend now!! (REMEMBER)

@@@@ develop a "direct-wire" like routing system @@@@@ (a time saving way to get the same result)

I'm a UAD1 and tc powercore user
i still use my pulsar but only use it as an i/o and quick effect addon
no quality reverb (no, Masterverb is not good, matelic, small space, muddy midfrequency), no decent compressor, slow memory eator interface, plus today's softwares mixer in CubaseSX, Sonar, etc, make the SFP mixers seem a bit redondent.

Concentrate on marketing and programing XTC mode.
AND take out the Unresponsible, arrogant personals.
be NICE will always help.

$$$$$$when @Quality/performace/price/strability@ are there, people will go buy CWA products!!$$$$$

i sound harsh to the army but the it's reality
if the profit/sales cant match.... well.... donno
GOOd lucK!!
and cya~

Oh god, not again

Well, most of his points are valid (and have been touched upon in this thread already) even though his writing style is abominable
I'll try and make a summary of the points raised and present that to Fortune or anyone else @ CW who is interested.

Welcome back D-X-L....

As long as you don't start bashing others with your opinions, repeat yourself endlessly, and make valid statements I don't mind seeing you around here.

I agree with some of your remarks: XTC mode (and it's documentation!) could be improved, the stock Creamware reverb could do with a less metallic sound (though apparantly a lot of people on this forum love it's sound)

Some things I don't agree with:
* The Vinco and Optimaster compressors really shine!!! Unfortunatly these aren't included in the basic package... so it may indeed be wise to include one of their top-quality compressors in their basic package, to make it look more competative to the UAD/Powercore alternatives for the average potential buyer.
* Although XTC-mode directly attacks the UAD and TC, don't wipe out the SFP environment! It allows for wiring possibilities far beyond anything possible with current native software solutions. Which could be a very good selling point! Ideally Creamware should integrate XTC and SFP (making it the ultimate creative tool), although I don't know whether this is technically possible nor within developmental budget.

Don't know how it should be achieved, but a very important thing is to dispell the myth that SFP is 'complicated and unstable'.
I have been in numerous Hi-tech music shops where drongo salesmen have tried to steer me away from Scope because it's 'over-complicated'.
Surely the beauty of the system is that you can make it as simple/complex as you like....you are only limited by your imagination, as in any well-equipped studio.
and by the way XTC....schmeXTC....The whole power of the system is in the routing capabilities of the project page.
I personally can't stand the 'all-in-one-workstation-any idiot with toys can make emotive music approach company's like Steinberg are starting to pander to.
Sorry for ranting, but this is exactly the reason Scope stands out above the rest....
Let's keep it original

Pity you don't heed your own advice - you always manage to come across as an arrogant and not particularly nice fellow. You have some valid points which could get overlooked because of your writing 'style', however you miss the point of SFP as a flexible system by saying CWA should concentrate on XTC and losing the mixers. Well i use my 'brilliant' Cubase mixer just as a router to the SFP one (and i would bypass Cubase's mixer completely if Cubase had direct outs) and as a Maccer have never used XTC nor miss it - i prefer seeing what is routed visually in front of me than in some sh*tty (for me) Cubase environment.

Yes i think XTC could do with being refined - i wouldn't advocate getting rid of anything as i think the point of SFP is that different users can use it in different ways. i for one would probably be less keen to use SCOPE if it became XTC only.

Try a little decorum in your posts dxl and you might find that people are actually quite reasonable and responsive here.

Mr A

PS. i like the idea of including a class compressor like Vinco in the standard package and improving the MasterVerb range.

PPS.
all-in-on music creation software is the trend now!!
CW was never about trends and never should be - it's own path is always going to be more interesting than following the herd.

PPPS. i personally would stop over-using the '@' symbol completely out of context, it makes you posts hard to read!

Here's a basic list of most of the points raised so far:
1. Show off connections between professional productions/producers and SFP
Have interviews with producers and developers on the site

2. Update the website to show more complete information and better navigation. Maybe use SFP interface for the website.
The base concepts of SFP should be explained with simple Flash animations. SFP is really not that complex!
It's all about signal flow and this should be shown!
A realmedia video demo would be cool too (Ableton has a good one for their Live program)
Flash/Video demo's could also be used in stores.
As much information and sound demo's of all plugins as possible

3. Have advertisements reflect the "pro" and the "quality". Most CW ads to date
have seemed a bit too bright and cheerful. (although others seem to appreciate a bit of humour too)

4. Develop better integration with sequencers (XTC mode) so that users don't have to work in
two different programs if they don't want to. (SFP mode will be fore "deep editing")

5. The flexible routing environment is still one of the keyfeatures of SFP that many users
appreciate a lot. This is a prime selling point and should be reflected in advertising.
Remember, the only way to explain it is to show it. (see point 02)

6. Find a way to do away with the confusion about different packages and differently named cards.
(Luna, Pulsar, Scope). Just name them all Pulsar or all Scope, and make sure the software bears the same name.

7. Better and more sound examples of the instruments, preferably without effects.

8. Longer demo time for plugins. Preferably no time limit but a "ping" or silence on the output once every 20 seconds or something.

9. Bypass the shops and sell the cards via the website. If not, make sure the dealers get proper training and
know what they're selling, otherwise it's just more bad publicity for CW when it doesn't work and the shop can't help either.

10. Many people are starting to question the price/performance ratio of CW cards in comparison with UAD/Powercore.
The limitation of voices and mx number of plugins on a 6 DSP card is hard to explain in a day where native systems are getting more and more
powerful, even if they don't have quite the soundquality yet. Drastic price reductions on the cards may be neccesary. New and faster cards would be even better.

11. Have PlanetZ linked obviously from the CW site but keep it independant! The CW official forum is a joke, sorry.

12. Emphasis on the analog emulations like Vinco, Minimax, Pro One, Prodyssey. Some or all of these plugins should come as standard with new cards. The quality of the stock plugins
just isn't impressive enough anymore as a selling point.

13. Develop a Firewire Pulsar, preferably 15 DSP, with a competitive price to firewire Powercore.

14. The sheer amount of available (free and not free) 3rd party plugins is still a good selling point above UAD and Powercore. More linking to 3rd party developers and plugins on the CW site.

hahaha, as long as those who hated me don't start like what they just did~

by the way, i didn't say Vinco and Optimaster compressors are bad, but they are not standard~
just see what are useable in uad1 and powercore standard package.

i'm not saying they should get get ritoff SFP but XTC will serve the "majority" better!
the Average protential buys are the one who cares about Time and productives~
to many people, theres no need to learn a new platform over again, when it's not going to speed up the work nor improve the quality.
some like you guys here feel right at home can feel good and obsolutly need SFP to make music, then it's great!
if every other music people are like what CWloyal armys, CW would BLOW uad1 and powercore away

thank you for your pleasent greeting!

i didn't say people who are here are unresponsible or arrogant, maybe you are saying you are working for CWA?

anyway, if so, i'm sorry~

all the symbles i use in my posts are to make my points stand out even more, coz your hate to me make everything i said seem ..... to you, comment logic

but i'm sorry, i really do
my opinions are for the general music market today, not for satisfying SFP fans

as you said, CW is not about "trend", the you are just admit and don't want CW become popular.
just like, if you want to sell you music to "everyone" then, you would have to make it's easy to undstand (commercially) because of that many producers are not making what they really like.

you can be stubern and say, "i only make what i like, disregard what the majorty feels", then you are out of the compition already

cheer and good luck!
sinserly~

Please D.X.L, I created this topic for marketing suggestions for SFP only, not for fighting your petty little fights with the users here and CWA. When people disagree with you doesn't mean they hate you, nor that they work for CWA.
Using @@@@ and CAPITALS in your posts doesn't make your points stand out more, it just makes them extrmely annoying to read. This is the kind of attitude that got you banned last time. Stick to the topic and write normally or don't post. Thank you.

From a marketing perspective:
Fix or revamp the webpage. That is the first thing that a customer is seeing, if it is slow and reflects a poor design, customers will get a wrong impression from the start. Add more high res screenshots of the cards and software. Invest in a fast server, maybe the customer will assume that the company is doing well. Get rid of the screenshot with SFP in the big studio, the bulk of the customers who have CW cards don't have big studios and a CW card can't replace a big studio, misleading is offensive.

Hi,

First some personal suggestions for CW's new look:
How about a list of recommended computer configurations? For example buying the wrong motherboard for a pc can cause annoying restrictions on/problems with Creamware cards. A Scope card doesn't fit in some Macs. Which laptops can bear the stress of a Magma PCI Extension box with a couple of Creamware cards? A lot of suffering can be avoided, this is common practice on other hardware manufacturers' sites.

I'm also looking forward to see the Support Database in new clothes.

For some others: keep it cool guys. :D
A couple of days ago I was worried a bit about the fact that we, z members - as a small close userbase- are very enthousiastic about most SFP stuff, and that that enthousiasm and confidence might scare some criticizing people to become a member. I can handle sharp opinions, as long as the poster remains polite when making his point.

I wasn't thinking of dxl really... as long as he makes his point and y'all don't start to play games, we'll be fine.

All the best,

at0m.

as I said elsewhere: recommended comp configs is a very great idea, it would spare John tons of server capacities

I can't share your optimisme about being polite and on topic: he's a troll, nothing less.
We all know what'll happen, it started already.

Hi dxl,

Ok. Based on your behavior in the past here, you cannot expect to be welcomed back with much enthusiasm. You make some valid points here, and as long as you stay on topic, and don't start repeating your past performance, you can stay. But remember, you have already been banned once. In all the years of planetz, and thousands of forums users, I have only banned two users, both for egregious violations of the planetz forum <a href="http://www.planetz.com/forums/bb_regist ... membership agreement</a>. Please reread it, and keep in mind, I will have **no tolerance** whatsoever for any kind of bad behavior from you.
