it's the first generation of plugins with a different licensing scheme
(you probably noticed Warp69's notice in the Sales-section)
on the other hand no one would buy it - who's Celmo anyway ?
it needs a big name and it needs a real world counterpart that's extremely rare/expensive
the sound doesn't even matter - the image sells
there's a ton of stuff from the early 2000 years that still keeps up with current releases or even outperforms them
cheers, Tom

Yes, I don't know who Celmo is, but his name shows up on eBay? Celmo's something can reverb?

his full name is Celmar Engel, quite an interesting person... so to say...
but not in the reverb domain, the spring reverb is about the only device I'd label as 'sucks'
TapeEcho and VintagePro are great (as mentioned)
btw you can turn up the speed of the Tape (which in fact represents a disk) enough that it 'reverbs'
(cool for special 'metallic' sounds)
and his sales site is still active
cheers, Tom

Sorry, it's not a reverb. It's a guitar compressor pedal. It's on his site. Looks like he knows his shit

One thing i'd like to see on scope is a real guitar tuner, or even better, a tuner like the tcelectronic polytune

That i could tune my guitar or bass without leaving scope, and double check in real time that everything is ok, without having to launch a vst tuner into DAW or connecting the instrument to a real tuner that makes me loose time.

use a 2nd instance if more heads are needed - or his TapeEcho which emulates a Meazzi Platter (iirc)

Great plugin. Celmo's stuff id really musical.

Dave Smith just teamed up with Tom Oberheim to make the OB-6 which sounds amazing to me. It made me think that we've got Moog and Smith covered pretty well, but no Oberheim.

That´s what I said,- and we have ARP covered pretty well too.
In regards of Oberheim you´ll need the hardware though.
Oberheim in itself was always very different.
Those machines giving the most beefy sound and offering the state variable multimode filter as well as SSM chips inside, offer the last in line modulation capabilities and those offering the most of these incl. modulation matrix, were the thinner sounding CEM chip synths generating ENVs, ramp gens, LFOs and even most of their VCAs in software makinge ´em not the most snappy ones.
So, which to clone ?
You want someone cloning a SEM module, a 6-8 voice OBX and a Xpander then.
Those 3 cover the pallette almost complete and best.
I don´t think I ´ll see that for SCOPE in my lifetime.
Forget the DCO synths Matrix-6 and Matrix-1000 in that selection.

Faxi...
Can I get a PitchShifter which can PitchShift each partial individually to detune the signal with four mod inputs, X,Y, 2X, 2Y. All partials below X are shifted according to Y and all partials above 2X are shifted according to 2Y

I think about the Oberheim clone, the easiest way is to limit yourself and simulate only the oscillators/filters.
That can be easily done, get a sample of the Oberheim, something that sounds good, and study the waveform
(And the synth a bit).
It would be 2-3 steps away to re synthesize the waveform and get an oberheim-like engine.
It can be done in modular, and surely at the sdk.
About the pitch shifting thing "on partials", i suppose in the current sdk the fft possibilities are limited,
perhaps a user of sdk 6, but i doubt.

First thing I said when I came to this forum in '06.
At that time I had the Matrix 12 and XPander.
Played every synth patch in Modular 2/3 and couldn't find the Oberheim tones.
But so many Oberheims sounding all different.
OB-6 is bad ass. No doubt.
But his SEM 2 Voice is a sound if made in DSP would be worth hundreds.
But would cheapskates here pay 399 USD...?
Doubtful.
Folks here cry about bending over to pick up a dime......
Oh sorry, just realized I was at the Z.
Thought I was at KVR amongst the hordes of whiny avatars crying about a 49 dollar synth edit masterpiece....

Can you post a sample of it?

Sorry I sold them to help fund the Rothschilds print money at our Federal Reserve.
But SHARC made a 6 db BPF that when blended with a 24db LPF gets the sound from my CEM XPander really well.
Just have to make sure to use 8 of his MultiOsc modules using Pulse and Triangle or Saw and Square outs simultaneously.
Also placing 6db LPFs pre Oscillator input gives that seperate Oscillator glide effect if slightly different values are used.
Its really tough though trying to emulate discrete audio.
I would prefer someone make it easier for using Modular IV with Eurorack stuff like Neutron now makes.
Modules already accept audio as a Modulation source.
Some nice possibilities there but I have no time for learning scientific stuff.
Too busy pretending I am Jon Lord.

If you find any sample post it to check it out. (perhaps youtube?)
It is not so difficult nor scientific to use an oscilloscope
when working with modular and want to create a specific tone.
Working without one makes things very difficult and counter intuitive.

So true. I have to say that after hearing that OP-6 I quickly started researching selling a kidney.

I always thought the Prophet 6 sounded good, but the OP-6 really sounds like I want an analog poly to sound.
On the reluctance to spend money front, I think you'll find that if you edit out the young'uns who've grown up in a Napster world, you'll find a lot of people on KVR are more than willing to spend on quality. Also, a problem is that native plug ins are priced so cheap these days that I think with the smaller market of the Scope platform it would be hard to compete due to lower sales volume.

The filter makes up most of the sound of the synth. If that's not emulated, it won't sound the same. There are certain things you will not be able to do in Modular, although you can do a lot.

i don't think that it's impossible to model the filter for any reason. all of the filters act according to normal physics, not pixie dust.

Looks like the Oberheim SEM filter is described in this book (Designing Software Synthesizer Plug-Ins in C++: For RackAFX, VST3, and Audio Units by Will Pirkle)

I said it's impossible to do it in Modular or the current SDK...
You definitely need custom code.
