I work 98 % with XTC-Mode. I have a routing which doesn't change alot. So I open Cubase and have the IN/OUT Routing to Cubase via SCOPE to the A/D-Interfaces.

All the SCOPE-Plugins and Synths I need work within Cubase in XTC-Mode.

So that's perfect for me - even Vocodizer works

So I hope XTC will work with SCOPE 5 and/or XCITE at least the way it works now.
Some minor corrections and improvements are always welcome!!!

YES, there's a big ISSUE - Changing the BPM in many Synths doesn't work for me. There was the advice to start SFP and save the preset there with the desired BPM-value and get back to XTC.
If this would work within XTC-Mode ....

AND SYNCing to the host, that would be great - I love SB404!!!!!

All I would like to see in SFP 5.0 is some bug fixes which all of us are generally familiar with and updates on some things like STS sampler series or a new sampler.

Having a sampler within SFP environment is killer compared to VST.
No latency for one thing.

Imagine having a Sampler within scope that would take multiple formats and have disk streaming for large sample libraries......

Anyways , this has been said again and again, so it's up to SC to make a decision on whether or not to spend time and money for developing something like this.

I am eagerly waiting for the release of SFP 5.0 and Xite-1

Also forgot to mention that the xite-1's i/o's (adat Z-link Phantom ) etc. is excellent

Totally agree. I have said just that before. Disk streaming combined with the onboard ram would be perfect gigastudio replacement. The good point of Gigastudio, Halion etc, is that only load on ram only the first part of each sample. Many notes played have low duration, and so don´t require read from disk, only the notes you play longer will read from disk. That saves a lot of ram use keeping the low latency. Now Xite-1 has the opportunity the became unbeatable for any of the other competitors, including Native and other DSP vendors.
I´m sure they will do it, when they have the time.

most likely not. you may have to chose the one or the other card when ordering. you should have the possibility to acquire additional host cards separately to use the XITE with several machines.

but I don't think there are both cards in the package.
the announcement at thomann (only a single item with no description regarding the actual connection method gives room for some speculation, of course. but then, it isn't available yet, so maybe ralf will drop in at some point and make things clear...

It also appears the cards will be 'dumb' - just a physical pass-through of PCI Express to the Xite-1, so in theory should be cheap.

Oh, I get it. I thought I'd have to buy two separate versions of Xite -- not just buy the additional interface card.

in fact, the PCIe interface connector on the XITE box looks just like the DVI connector used for the 4 slot cheapo PCIe to PCI expansion mentioned here in the forum. the card isn't really more than a PCIe-to-PCI bridge, and the whole box is 200 EUR. so the host cards shouldn't be that expensive...

*Rear Connectors:
Analog In/Out balanced XLR (2 channels), 1 x AES/EBU interface,
2 x ADAT In/Out (16 channels), 2 x Z-Link In/Out (16 channels),
MIDI In/Out/Thru,Wordclock In/Out, PCIe, XTDM

The product contents will contain an adapter for the notebook expresscard interface OR an adapter for the PCI Express1-interface of a PC.

He also stated that there will be no cost difference but that one must choose if you want to connect to PC or notebook.

I second that. In my studio we'll be mainly using Xite with a Mac Pro, but at some point we'll want to take it on the road and use it with a laptop. We're gonna need the ExpressCard interface at some point....

Why not? it is so now on common Scope boards, I imagine that will be the case...

i need to change my sample_setting (spdif -adat) everytime while recording.
is that something to do with master clock? if so, does xite has master clock build in?

it's the same. both have a master clock internally.

when using adat AND sp/dif, you need 1 master and 2 slaves, and that can be done between with the settings on each device. in what ever combination you can have 2 slaves and a master is good and will not need to be reset.

That would be extremely nice - I prefer 3xAES D-SUB/25 supporting 192KHz singlewire - that would be awesome.
