Behringer ADA8000, first impressions

Hmm, interesting. Problem is that I am building a rather compact rack. I am looking at a 8U total. 4U reserved for the computer and the rest for ADDA, mic pres and headphone distribution/sentral station.

But could you name some brands regarding the ancient mixers?

these will definitely take up too much space but...tascam, ramsa, soundcraft, hill, studiomaster, sound workshops, amek and many others... broadcast boards work, too. all of these are better than any of the less expensive mic pres available(under $400, pair with a few exceptions like the fmr rnp), as long as with brands like tascam and studiomaster, you are looking at studio stuff and not live boards.

If you check out the SawStudio forum the developer did a live recording of a Tower of Power cover band in Las Vegas using two ADA8000s. He posted an mp3 of the results, everyone agreed it sounded great, especially for the price. Anyways this is a good test for those who doubt stereo a/b comparisons as this one used 16 inputs and shows the culmulative effect of the converters.
