Re: John Bowen introduces the Solaris hardware synth
+1 for Wavelength

4PC + Scope 5.0 + no more Xite + 2xScope Pro + 6xPulsarII + 2xLunaII + SDK + a lot of devices (Flexor III & Solaris 4.1 etc.) + Plugiator.
Re: John Bowen introduces the Solaris hardware synth
Definately Benoist Guitton Too.
John knows it's strengths better than anyone so he better kick in this time.

Re: John Bowen introduces the Solaris hardware synth
From what guys who have played with it said that the pre's will load fast.
To me that makes this synth a dream. Years back I yearned for fast sampled instrumens to load in hardware samplers, Gigastudio has settled that, but Solaris being able to switch fast like my beloved Oberheims ( R.I.P.
) is the icing on the cake.
My rig will be the best synths and samplers acting as a giant integrated workstation. That is why those Motifs, and other boards sell so well to keyboard players, ease of use on stage. But they die IMHO when recorded, as their uncomplex settings and looped PCM samples are exposed in detail. Live recordings with this will be a pleasure to hear nightly.
For that matter live recordings to me are where it's at. It's a challenge to get them perfect and when a group functions as one unit and has a great night, nothing can be more exciting.
I also wonder how complex synths will load up under XITE-1, they should be quicker I suspect too.
My favorite EPiano is made from Sine waves w/ muliple detunings and 3 Filters, but 6 voices is all I can get in Solaris 5.0.8. 16 voices of that loading quickly while floating through Flu-Liq can make a grown man cry.
The unique sounds @ 96k should have no equal in recordings and live.............well we will see. When you have a geogeous female vocalist and people still turn their heads to watch the keyboardist performing, you feel this virtual hand come out and pat you on the back.......that means I am doing my job. But Shelley sings like a modern day Sade, and is really beautiful to boot, Good.....I will have to work even harder.
