indeed, that was the first thing that came to my mind as well.
But have a closer look: in an average setup there may be quite some midi traffic going on. Midi is no system event with interupt priority, so the software would constantly have to poll for midi events, dispatch and administer them - asking for trouble imho.
Under that point of view it's a good solution to have an external controller do the job.
If a Pocket Dial can be used then it's not even a question of money.

Thanks for the info, that was just what I was wondering about. Sad to hear, but I hope CW will implement this feature in following versions, I think relative controllers (increase/decrease value) is a great way to solve the "soft takeover".
