Just want to make it clear that we are NOT haveing a flamewar here before we start

I understand what you are saying its just I have a different take on it - I think that look at platforms that allow free development gain popularity in a different way - I guess that Linux is the most extreme example here. You are right though - the quality of Mac stuff I believe is one of the things that has kept it alive despite a smaller market share and also the DSP card market is very different from the desk top computer market so in someways these comparisions may be irrelevant.

cheers

mark

So the $6000 if for the card as well?

What if I already have the card??

I am either going to be getting an SRB or Scope in the VERY near future.

If I wanted to but the Development Platform, would I have to buy a card with it?

yes Mark, same about me, I always appreciate an opinion, be it different from my own or not. It's your own thoughts what really counts, not that unreflected re-babbling of marketing ideas some weirdos on the net prefer...
Maybe some of my 'history' stories can contribute to a better understanding of what we have today - if not they might be at least a bit amusing.

Caleb, the price details of the developement system are difficult to find, but afaik the 6k bucks are for the 'standard package' including the 15 DSP card with classic IO. With next software release it will be possible to use the developemt tools on whatever Pulsar card, but I couldn't figure out prices anywhere, guess around 2k.
