Model B Close mic's using TC Fireworx Reverb or S|C 5.1 Room
in the STM 2448X AUX sounds really good.
PianoTeq FX suck buttcrack, typical weak Native crap using
resources better delegated to other chores.

Is there a way you can play some stuff on it so I know if it's worth the investment (in the future).

My computer will be down for another 2-3 weeks

I would not get it unless you use a lot of piano like I do. The stage version is only $129 and sounds the same but you can't alter the sounds.

I actually don't play piano at all. If I wanted a piano, I would probably buy a better used piano. But that takes up a lot of space. The piano sound on the Korg is pretty good and I have the Addictive Keys piano that I got on sale. That's all I need for now. The piano sound on the EX5 is not so good...

There is not even the need to wander about it brother. This is a mayor revolution in many ways. In the other hand, there is not A PIANO that you will like or dislike, Pianoteq is “all pianos”, because you can customize them to some extremes, so there is no piano you will not be able to achieve, as long as it is a conventional piano. But as Brain tells you too, you can mix instruments, if you have the Pro version, and build amazing new unusual instruments. Look, there are many, MANY VSTis out there, this is not just another one, this is THE virtual piano to have. It is very cheap for what it gives you, it loads instantly and it is so, so light! There is nothing to say about this particular instrument, go and get it closed eyes, you will be happy!

I am still learning how to play synthesizers with some expression. I know you can do a lot with a piano, but with a synthesizer the possibilities are endless

The high notes are 100% there but the low notes are disappointing.

If you try a glissando on a real piano, with full sustain pedal versus Pianoteq, it's clear the acoustic sounds better.

if anyone is going to make music where the piano was so critical that these minutiae are important, and if one had access to a great acoustic piano in a good room, why would they EVER use plugins instead of the real piano? the idea is just stupid.

if one were doing pop music where the piano was one of the instruments in the band, Pianoteq is more than awesome.

If you ever had a real 280 cm lang grand piano AT home, if it is in good condition and well tuned, you will laugh for ever

The free tubular bells for Pianoteq sound better than VSL tubular bells but when you switch it to mono, it sounds the same. Something in the Pianoteq stereo emulation greatly enhances it. The Pianoteq pianos seems to sound better in mono though.
