Cool stuff but you know why analog devices dsp's are called this way

Is that an 8580??

No, just heard the resonance. The SID cannot do that, it barely has any resonance...

Aye,
I know. But that was my 1st bare no experience with SID sound. Trust me, there are sounds you will likely not be able to make or it will be hard.
I am bored, so I will record you some presets that are not even fully tweaked yet

@ tlaskows
Please, give me your "hard ones"

Oh these won't be hard. They are not programmed to respond to any controllers really. No mod wheel, no after touch, and probably no velocity. Just imagine what you could do with 6 LFOs.

I have to deduce from the 66 lfo 's i' m used, hmm, well yes 6 lfo's are fine

Now,
Remember. Many people have tried to emulate this chip originally released in 1982. There are few revisions, they all sound a bit different. Apparently there is an emulation out there that some lady developed that is as good as it gets but it probably runs on an FPGA. I was researching I have no idea. Then also remember that I paid $1 for this chip

Yes, not bad for a 1$ chip and about 50$ worth of parts

I am almost done the last step which is putting it in a nice box.
My homie is working on the vinyl panel that I drew. I gave him my actual panel so he can make adjustments so everything is printed in the right place.
I can't wait to tweak the sounds. Most of the sounds are not assigned to any controllers

I think the only default ones you can assign is velocity, mod wheel, and aftertouch. But I think anything can be MIDI controllable. But with 1024 patches, I can just customize them to my liking. The microcontroller and the memory sticks for patches were 'samples' from Microchip :p
I was gonna build this thing over 10 years ago that's why I grabbed an old C64 from a thrift store then. Pulled the chip :thumbs up: and threw out the computer
Some people go overboard and put like 8 SIDs in a big box
Cheers,
-Tom

Very good mister!
It's pretty close to the SID. So why don't you create a module and sell it for a few bucks? Except the filter is not right on some sounds. You won't be able to emulate that...

The filter is the "uknow filter". Can you please upload a sample of the filter type "i won't be able to emulate".
Just curious

Yes, I can.
If you have the SDK with being able to write DSP, there are a lot of emulations out there that you can borrow.
I will get you the filter later, it's a little bit complicated...

I'm not sure i understand. The sounds i uploaded can be designed "easily" in the modular.
Cool, i wait for the sample
