Yes it does (for those interested), and it is very official info as i learnt this early morning :-)

"SCOPE PCI cards and XITE are independend and work at the same time.
In case you have a PCI card installed and use XITE you have 2 applications
and 2 ASIO drivers.

Now that is interesting.

Does this mean Xite in sfp and cards in XTC would be possible??

Hmmmmm

@Me$$iah:
Well, my question (and the answer received) was only about asio driver and running the 2 project windows at the same time (like 2 independant soundcards).
I am not sure how XTC works, but you never know, if xtc is disabled on one card and abled on the other, why not. I don't know if there can be conflicts in this area... (but i guess they can be avoided).

@Greg: awesome indeed :-)

So, my next immediate test will be to have seemingly two instances of Scope running with SPDIF and/or ADAT piping between the two - with perhaps current system piping over to Xite that way - at least until STDM interface is worked out between older cards and Xite.

That's just .....insane....

Hmm .... if the cards and Xite will be able to communicate directly, this could be used to create an extreme I/O system with very high DSP power.

This would be the purpose of getting the XTDM bridge between PCI and Xite - it becomes one huge (insane) environment.

Now that is good news.
I really don't want to buy an expensive I/O upgrade, but a pair of LUNA's just for MIDI I/O's would make me happy as a Pig 'N' Shit.....
I can use this as an entire live production already.
Synths and effects, FOH sends, wireless IEM's...
16 Channels of MIDI for ASIO, 16 for synths, and 16 for control surfaces is exactly what I was planning on doing down the road. But LUNA cards for MIDI only is a seriously cheap alternative......
I must be confused, this can't be that easy?

Keep On Ball Bustin' Mehdi.............

um, where did you get that official info from? :)
ok, there are 2 different asio drivers in the app\drivers folder after installation of scope5 (one of them for xite, as you can guess from the name),
so maybe one of the main difference between scope5pci and scope5xite is that each software ignores the existance of the other type of hardware by relying on different device drivers as well.

Greg,

This is fargin' awesome! I am very interested in the results of your XITE/ScopePCI test. Is it possible for you to try routing through ADAT from/to XITE and Scope4.5? If that is functional, it really would be the icing on the cake because of the extra IO possibilities.

Another question, if the PCI card is strictly routing for IOs via ADAT, is the latency still a factor? My recollection is that the latency occurs primarily through the ASIO connections.

I hope you called in sick in order to play...~8^)

Thanks,
Cory

yep, no asio, no latency. with only IOs in your project, it's in fact like hardware, no, even better :-)

Anyone got a LUNA they don't want?
I was going to buy them before people start realizing they are worth more.
These guys at SC are alot smarter than are getting credit for.
Even those silly old 4 DSP chip 13ms latency cards have new life being breathed into the,.
Thios is ingenious as long as it does what I am thinking........

by next to nothing
I have one laying around. No idea what i costs to ship it, but i can check.

PS. I don't have any spares of the special midi-cable-thingy that you'd need, but im sure gary can hook up one or two.

I'm dead serious Brotha' Man.
I am trying to verify my idea will work.
I could use the FP106C and MB4-II with an external controller surface seperate from my current channel needs.
One KS88 for 16 channels of sample players, JBowens Solaris w/ a nest full of CC2x2's for QWave, Multisynth, XOR, Flexor 3.5, Modular, etc.
This is pretty exciting as I have been handcuffed w/ 16 channels.

:o

Well, once everything (Scope5 and Xite) actually <ahem> GET HERE, then I'll probably use the spare unused ADAT port on my Pulsar I, or maybe even just SPDIF for tests to/from the two environments. My Scope Pro is wired into the mixer and other external hardware.

Greg,

I thought that you had received the XITE already? Or are you waiting for the V5 keys? If you have the XITE already, I'd be interested in how that works with the P1 on 4.0/4.5 as well. What I'm trying to understand is whether I can keep my P1 essentially as an IO expander for an XITE.

Of course, you may feel like you have more important things to do than to follow up on my requests. Some people are just selfish that way! :D ~8^)

All joking aside, thanks for being on the bleeding edge!

No, like others here (in US I guess), we are still waiting on next Xite shipment, and V5 keys.
I'll be doing a lot of tests, so no worries.
This is the first big leap in development in 10 years that I've been using Scope, so what's yet another day  :P
Step by step....
