aspi drivers don't matter and really haven't since win98.

irq sharing problems likely can't be fixed with a driver. since the card is realtime, it's not likely that it can share an cpu interrupt with another piece of hardware. the fact that sharing isn't possible is not a flaw.

All the yrs I've been here too dumb to post anything useful compared to you and all the other really really really smart people here and you gotta bust my balls! :) garyb, love ya man what would we do w/o you here.

I guess it's not necessarily a flaw but something that's getting harder and harder to avoid with newer motherboards and seems irq sharing is one of the first things you direct people to check when they have problems? Then again, perhaps I am a little behind the times.....ahem like needlessly loading the aspi layer.....doh! (Although I seem to recall that being part of the install instructions Readme even for SFP 4.5? - with Win 98 only, got it) Was hoping the upgrade would solve the irq thing though but I understand it's purely a motherboard thing that SonicCore has no control over. I'm sharing irq's on all 3 of my scope boards on my latest motherboard (ASUS PQ--) and believe me i've tried, there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it except buy a new motherboard. Haven't had any issues with it though so I figured I'd leave it for now.
Anyway i'm looking fwd to exploring any/all of the improvements that i'm sure are there in version 5

sorry to be hurtful, what is shared? there are a few system devices that can share an irq with Scope and no harm done, but otherwise, most things can be disabled...

My current system has Scope cards on different IRQ's, no problem.

Yeah, wish I had bought an intel motherboard, they seem to have better results. Gary- no harm done man, I'm just thankful you and the other great people here continue to dedicate their time to educate amateurs/hobbyists like me in a most un-snobby manner.

Curious to know if Scope 5 will work with type I cards standalone. I still have my original Pulsar I (10yrs ago)that got bumped to an older computer. Prob won't spend the money to upgrade since I really haven't figured out what to do with it, but just knowing that I could is worth bragging rights in my book.

I'm presuming V5 will run on the Pulsar I's.
Since 4.5 runs on it, then there should be no issues.
Still using mine after 10 years as well.

I intend to download V5 in the dead of night, in full camouflage & under the cover of radar. Thus avoiding the rampaging herd of wildebeest.

I hope they solved the Problems with "Active-Sensing" too, which makes Stutteringsounds & Freezes mostly with our Boards in "XTC" Modus.
