I thought about buying one, but then my TFT died and I went back to a used CRT from my co-worker. 21" and 1280x1024 now. no use for a movable arm (CRT too heavy :))
but I intend to go dualhead this year, with 2 identical screens.
still hesitating, since I have no clear statement whether my card will support a non 4:3 resolution. they don't list something like 1650x1050 as supported there at matrox for the qid cards...
any hints?

kylie I think it ought to work, I havent seen anything that wont support the resolutions given to it, as long as they are not out of the range of the card,

okay it seems to turn out that 1280x1024 seems to be the standard resolution.

I`m really surprised that almost half of the participating users use higher resolutions or even have dual or triple screen configurations.

Thats pretty good and exactly what I wanted to know.

1280 X 1024 here too . On 3 Samsung 19" TFT monitors.

Multiple monitors is the only way to go for hungry graphical space apps like daws... As long as you assign a shortcut to the blank screen saver to be able to use ears as well as the eyes. :-D

Main DAW: Samsung 27" lcd @ 1920x1200, 19" lcd @ 1280x1024

Scope box: 2x 19" crt's, 1280x1024

Laptop: 1024x768 lcd & 19" crt @ 1024x768 (it's a crappy KDS and has wavy line issues at higher res)

Wife machine: 1152x864

stardust you might be interested in knowing the samsung 275t has some of the largest pixels available, I chose it instead of the 30" lcd models for this reason. I wanted to be able to put my monitor BEHIND my desk on a stand directly between my nearfields, instead of on the middle of my desk. I've freed up my deskspace and the 'resting point' for my eyes' focus is now 1 meter further away. I still don't wear glasses but with my previous setup I was starting to get eye fatigue (after only 25 years of computer use you'd think I'd need glasses already). This has helped and I get enough res @ 1920x1200 for my graphics work as well as music work.

PC1: main DAW running Cubase + Scope

Matrox P650
Screen1 24" Acer AL2416WB:- 1920 x 1200
Screen2 18" NEC MULTISYNC LCD 1810 TFT:- 1600 x 1200

Have had the Acer 24" for about two weeks now. Cost £209.00 inc. delivery. Ordered on a Friday - arrived the following Monday. Ordered from microwarehouse. Highly recommended. :)

I use the Acer for both Cubase and Scope. I just switch between Cubase and Scope by selecting them from the Taskbar. I use the NEC 17" for odd things like displaying manuals, Creamware plugins etc.

PCs 2+3 for running additional plugins - all audio routed into Scope on PC1. Plus TV card - very important! :P

Both pcs share a 21" Cornerstone Color 50/101sf (ancient CRT) via a Nova View KNV104 switch box. 1280 x 1024.
