after rereading this thread, i see that i am confused as to exactly what is happening. something is very wrong. this could be related to some incompatibility with a p1 and the kt800, but i haven't seen this kind of problem with any chipset, not even an ati.

since i don't have a clear picture of the computer, it's hard to say what's going on with this thing. possibly something have been corrupted in software and either a few programs(maybe windows) reinstalled over the top of the old installs(without uninstalling) might replace any bad files, or maybe the hardware itself is damaged(i don't think so, there'd likely be an error message in that case). there's even an outside chance of motherboard or video card malfunction.

since so many things have been changed, unistalled, removed, i'd be suspicious of the operating system itself. it sure would be nice to determine where the problem is from the ground up, knowing that each step is clean. this hardware usually functions well even in the less than optimum machines if the software is installed and set up properly and the computer hardware funtions properly....

I did as you suggested and there was an immediate improvement.

I put the IO board on the Pulsar2 and put the 'SRB blanking plate' onto the Scope v1 card.

It worked straight away. Only I had to install both cards because the software is all keyed to the Scope card, so it had to be present for the install.

Anyway, there was no problems until I started to put the system under stress.
At 25ms latency, 44.1khz master clock, I loaded vectron, Uknow, 4824mixer and STS5000. I then I tried to up everything from 1 note poly to 6 notes poly.

It immediately said I needed to optimise my dsp usage between cards. On answering yes to the intended optimisation the computer crashed in the same way as before, locked pointer then blank screen.

My conclusion is that there is some major and fundamental incompatibility on this system either between the v1 and v2 boards or between the v1 Scope board and the mainboard.

I'd like to thank you Tom, this was a major improvement. I managed to load EVERY synth I have and use them with 6 note poly. Given that Pulsar2 appeared first in the DSP list I can only assume that this is the board that allowed that to happen and therefore that there is nothing wrong
with my system and v2 Creamware boards.

It is my intention to sell the Scope v1 board and possibly the Pulsar2 board, and start entirely from scratch using two Scope v2 boards, possibly new.

I will post any further information that I can find.

to be honest I wouldn't have expected that the plates match...
but possibly you can improve it even further by providing a 2nd S/TDM cable ?
