Yes And I Am 1,
I just spent my first 12 hour session w/ Flexor. This is an incredible set of modules. I linked it with Solaris and I liked it, but found that it was limited in that enviroment, and it chewed up my DSP's causing some long load times and such. It seems that it is meant for total modularity. I'm going slow trying to relate to my days of old and find which Flexor modules match up with the names and functions of the old modules I use to use,i.e. Freq.Division from the late '70's is Flexor Ramp Divider. All of my experiments are to reproduce the old sounds that I am very familiar with from Oberheim, ARP, Moog, Sequential Circuits, and the ancient and rare Crumar Spirit. In other words I'm trying to replace my last analogs that I use on the live gigs which is the 2 x Studio Electronics SE-1x's. I used the MultiSaws dev. from the factory patches to great extent. I have recreated solos from Emerson, Wakeman, Pink Floyd, Straubs, and don't forget me during the SEM days.
I believe that Solaris 4.1 will remain my source of polyphonics, while Modular and Flexor will now replace my last bit of analog synth hardware on stage for the SFX, and giant fat fuckin' leads. I played through my speakers, and rotary cabinet with B2003, and Flexor. It made the hair on my thighs stand up. This I decided after my first session with Flexor.
I will try to create great stuff like the BETA testers, but that will be a while as these guys are very deep and beyond my abilities for some time I'm afraid. However, I do know how to make great mono/legato sounds for this is where I came from. And I now can give the last of my analogs a proper burial in the studio, for Flexor has convinced me of it's awesome power.
Be Free, Be Modular,
